Expert Training
Dr. Shawn and Dr. Candice are orthodontists. Orthodontists are dentists first. Out of 100 dental school graduates, on average, only six go on to become orthodontists.
To practice orthodontics, Dr. Shawn and Dr. Candice each spent 11 years in training (four years of college, four years of dental school, and three years of orthodontics residency).
The orthodontic student spends three years learning the skills needed to manage tooth movement and to guide facial development.
Both Dr. Shawn and Dr. Candice have gone the extra mile to ensure you get the best treatment possible. They’re board-certified orthodontists, which means they’ve gone through an additional rigorous testing process in addition to the training all orthodontists receive. Only 10% of orthodontists achieve this certification.

From the moment you contact our office to your final retainer check appointment, our goal at About Faces and Braces is to consistently exceed your expectations.
Dr. Shawn or Dr. Candice will review your photos, X-rays and digital records to find the best way to treat your individual needs.
Then you’ll choose the type of braces you want - traditional metal, clear ceramic, Clarity Aligners or Invisalign. Our goal at About Faces and Braces is not just to give you the smile of your dreams.
We want you to leave our office after every appointment knowing that you got the best possible care.
Comfortable Treatments
Gone are the days of painful headgear, clunky bands on every tooth, and overly tight stainless steel wires. Today's orthodontic treatment is much more comfortable than it used to be. This is because of shape-memory NiTi wires.
With the same technology that NASA uses, NiTi wires exert a continuous force against the teeth to move them in the right direction. This gets rid of the need for wire tightening. This means you spend less time in braces, and the time you do spend is more comfortable.
We also offer clear aligners treatment using Clarity Aligners and Invisalign. You won’t have to put anything on hold while working on your new smile.

Modern Techniques
Dr. Shawn and Dr. Candice are up-to-date on the latest in orthodontic treatment and braces technology.
We use an iTero Element Scanner instead of goopy impressions. Our scanner allows us to digitally capture a detailed 3D model of your teeth and gums. Not only is this process far more comfortable than the old putty based impressions, but it’s faster and can offer a superior clinical endpoint.
About Faces and Braces is the location for modern orthodontic treatment. We offer aesthetic options like ceramic braces and Invisalign. We also use mini implants and diode laser for faster and more efficient tooth movement and faster treatment times.

Everyone loves medical offices that offer flexible appointments and flexible treatment options, but we also offer flexible payment options.
After we’ve determined your insurance coverage and filed it for you, we'll sit down and come up with a monthly payment plan that fits your family’s budget.
You can also get a discount if you pay in full on the front end.
